Every royal has their dirty little secret. His was… me.

It should have been simple.
Go to the ball, meet the prince, and secure his patronage for my favorite charity.
But beneath the mask, the brooding beast of a man was not at all who I expected.
He was dark and intense and eerily quiet.
When I left, I could still feel the ghost of his touch branded into my skin.
He haunted my dreams, but I never expected to see him again.
Then he came for me.
And he took me.
And I learned that his darkness was a void I never could have conceived.
He’s the crown prince of Norway.
And, now, I’m his captive.

Review
I’m a huge Zavarelli fan so I have been eagerly awaiting this story and it didn’t disappoint. Poor Ella is alone and treated horribly by her stepmother and stepsisters who all blame her for her father’s death. Her only escape from reality is a nearby animal sanctuary. When the place is on the verge of closing due to lack of funds, Ella has to do something to save it. She receives a ticket to a masquerade ball and hopes to ask the Prince of England to be its benefactor. Unfortunately, Ella gets in the wrong line and it leads her to Thortsen, a trouble prince from Norway. He is so intrigued by Ella that he steals her away to Norway and makes her an offer she can’t refuse. Let him do what he wants with her for two months, and he will save the sanctuary. I loved the characters in this book especially the tortured Thortsen. Fabulous job!!
